Carisoprodol is a type of medication that is administered as a muscle relaxant. It is given to patients who complain of discomfort and pain that may be brought by sprains, strains, and muscle injuries. It can be used in conjunction with any physical therapy that an individual may be going through to alleviate muscle pains. Carisoprodol should be stored in room temperature. It should always be sealed tightly and out of children's reach. Keep it away from heat and moisture. Watch out for the drug's expiration date and do not take it if expired.
Carisoprodol comes in tablet form and should be taken orally. It is advised to be taken three times a day and before going to sleep. It is not harmful to be taken without food although it is advised that you should have something before taking it. It can be taken with food or even with a glass of milk. If you happen to skip one dosage of carisoprodol, you can take it whenever your remember it. But never take two tablets at a time. What you can do is to skip the dose and continue with your regular intake schedule.
There may be side effects that may be caused by Carisoprodol. This include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, faster heart rate, skin rash and upset stomach that may even lead to vomiting. This mild side affects should go away after a few intakes of carisoprodol. In case you are experiencing these side effects for an extended period of time, consult your doctor.
