There are more overweight people in this world then there are thin people. More and more people are getting lazy, sometimes the reason isn’t as bad as sitting on a couch and watching TV. More and more people work longer and longer hours so they don’t exercise as much as they should. They don’t even eat right, they may grab something from a vending machine or stop at a fast food restaurant on the way home. The way some parents eat is rubbing off on their kids. More kids are eating fast food and junk food than ever before. Losing weight isn’t just for looking good but it is for your overall well being.
Some people believe that they can lose weight by popping a Trim Spa or Metabolife product but the truth is that it takes more than a pill to lose weight. If you have your heart set on those pills, reconsider. You will need to diet and exercise while taking the pills so you may as well not take them at all. The first thing you have to do is establish a goal for yourself. Don’t make it too high and don’t make plans to step on the scale for at least two weeks after you begin your diet. Some people don’t lose weight right away and by stepping on the scale it may discourage them from trying again.
Write down everything you eat, keep a journal with the weight you are starting at and record the foods you ate for the next two weeks and then when you weigh your self in and you did not lose the weight you thought you did then you can go over the foods you ate and see what went wrong. Try to set yourself a calorie goal, decide how many calories a day you wish to eat and stick with it. Don’t make it too low or you will have trouble sticking to it.
Next you should decide on an exercise program, maybe you want to join a gym or you would rather exercise in your own home. It is not necessary to go to a gym to lose weight. If you aren’t sure what you want to do, then look in your local video store and pick a course of exercise you would like to try. Stick to your level of exercise, if you have never exercised before then try the beginner videos. Then as you progress you can go to the next level and increase your fitness level. Try doing the video 3 or 4 times per week. If one day you don’t wish to do the video, go for a walk or do some regular sit ups and push ups, try to keep active.
Dieting is hard to do but if you look to the long term goal and that being good health so you can run with your kids or maybe you want more energy, then that should motivate you to stick with it.
