Hanuman JayantiAn ideal Karma yogi Lord Hanuman has always been worshipped for benevolence and his desire less and dynamic devotion to Lord Rama. He is believed to have been born out of Wind God and Devi Anjani after a number of divine events and is also considered as Lord Shiva’s Avatar. Also known by the names of Pavanputra, Pavankumar, Mahavira, Lord Hanuman is considered to have an immense and untapped reservoir of strength. From his birth Lord Hanuman exhibited darb physical strength and was the protagonist of many miracles. Apart from this he was an exceptional celibate or popularly known a BRAHMACHARI. Despite of being a master of all traits he never vaunted his power of excellence and coruscation. He had extraordinary dexterity in armed struggle and warfare. The Sun God taught him the SASTRAS and made him well versed with all the four Vedas.

As per the HINDU mythology when Lord Hanuman came back to Lord Rama after meeting Goddess Sita in Lanka, he was highly exalted by Rama, but he was not at all elated rather he fell in disruption in Lord’s feet out of his reverent. It is believed that Lord Hanuman’s Birthday falls on the Chaitra Shukla Purnima which is the March-April full moon day. On this much enshrined day not only the followers of Pavanputra but also the followers of Lord Rama observe fasts and read the Hanuman-Chalisa.The days that are considered to be auspicious for worshipping Lord Hanuman are Tuesdays and Saturdays.

This festival is of immense joy as well as denotation for Brahmacharis, body-builders and wrestlers. In various parts of the country the priests bathe Pavankumar’s idol in milk and then smear it with oil and sindoor. Various spiritual dissertations are organized at a massive level in the temple courtyards all over the country and the PRASAD is distributed only after the sunset takes place. In many parts of the country, cultural and musical programmes are also organized where classical singers are invited.
It is believed that those who take his name in the heartfelt manner and devote themselves to Lord Hanuman are blessed with prosperity, glory and power to fight evils at all ends.
