A big merger of Clara Barton FCU with Pentagon FCU is going to be held on 1st of November 2008. All the official formalities of the merger of two credit unions will be held in the month of November. Clara Barton Federal Credit Union was established to serve the employees of RED CROSS. Now, these employees have officially joined the family of Pentagon FCU. Clara Barton is a small institution with around 3000 members and $8.62 million in assets. The bank was unsuccessful in controlling its business and has decided to merge with the nations 3rd largest credit union which having 826,000 members and $12.15 billion as its assets .The Pentagon Federal credit union has got some 32,000 ATMs and 26 branches. Now, all the members of Clara Barton FCU can avail the services of Pentagon online banking services. American Red Cross employees can now apply for loans, manage accounts, pay bills and refer statements through online process.
