Punjab

PunjabA state in the northwest of India is known as Punjab. Chandigarh is the capital and the largest city is Ludhiana. When you compare its population to other states of India, you will come to know that it stands 15th largest. Actually, there are as many as 20 districts that consists this whole state and with the 20 districts, it bound to have a large population. Population, in general, has been on a real surge in India.

Punjab is a place that is considered to be most happening in India as the people who live here are called Punjabis, so these Punjabis are so fun loving that you will also engrossed and will get associated with what they do to enjoy. Punjabi, is the main language spoken here and Sikhism is the popular and major religion in this state of India. The main reason of Sikhism being the major religion here is that a lot of big Gurus of Sikhs have been born here.

The name Punjab is been given to this state with regards to its rivers. As the name implies a meaning “Five Rivers”, the rivers are called Beas, Sutlej, Chenab, Ravi and Jhelum. It has really good economic conditions as it is awarded as the region with least poverty.

People of Punjab are considered fearless and the daring, perhaps, that is the reason why there are a lot of Sikhs in the Army. The people are so proud about all they have. Getting in the army is also another way to show pride about the motherland and there have been some great sacrifices that were given by these Sikhs and Punjabis as a whole. People also posses a good business aptitude, however, the major industry here is agriculture, but that’s certainly not the all, as there are some other industries which are working quite well.

Scientific instruments companies, electrical goods, machines, textiles and many others constitute the facets of industry in Punjab. It is not only the industries that makes it important, but, it is also considered to be fully equipped with the best services and facilities in the field of transportation and you can experience a lot of good when you will be traveling through road, rail, air or by river for that matter.
