Republic Day
One of the three National Festivals of the country – Republic Day is celebrated on the 26th day of January every year. This day holds immense importance in the history of a DEMOCRATIC India. It was on this day in 1950 when the country was declared Sovereign Democratic Republic and the professed pledge of the country was hallowed. The Constitution, which the world’s largest, was brought into force and a committee was setup under the superintendence of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.
In the present the Republic day celebration all over the country has become even more exhilarated and exuberant. In the capital of the nation, New Delhi the celebration starts with the PRESIDENTIAL near the INDIA GATE. The beginning of the celebration always reminds the nation of the sacrifices of not only the greatest freedom fighters but also the martyrs and soldiers who have always been an integral part of the Indian Army and served the nation measurelessly.
Following the great TRIBUTE is a speech by the President of the nation acknowledging each and every citizen and laying down the guidelines for not only country’s economic but social and political development. After this comes the ceremony of Medal Distribution to the citizens for their remarkable contribution in various strata. Not only this, the highlight of the celebration is the Three Armed Forces Parade that not only depicts the collocation but also the hardihood and endurance of the INDIAN ARMY. Following the ARMY parade is another multi colored and extremely enticing parade that depicts an amalgamation and a spectacular display of the different cultures and different rituals from the varied parts of the country depicting the UNITY IN DIVERSITY of INDIA.

The Republic Day celebration has rightly become popular all over the world as one of the world’s biggest parades with paramount participation which undoubtedly draws a magnanimous number of viewers from everywhere in the world. No other can bring so many people together for a united and conjoint effort like this. This day is not only celebrated at selected venues, but in every school, every street of the country with an equal passion in the hearts of each and every citizen.
