In the year 1936, United Western Bank came into existence.In the private sector, it is among the largest banks in our country.In the past , the bank has shown a continuous growth with promising future and prosperous present.It’s head office is in Satara.It has nearly 230 branches spread in 9 states and 47 districts in our country, controlled by Pune, Mumbai, Kolhapur , Nagpur and Jalgoan which are the Zonal offices of the bank.

HISTORY:
In the year 1936, W.G aka Annasaheb Chirmule formed this bank.In the year 1951, the Scheduled Bank status was acquired by the bank. With Union Bank of Kolhapur, the bank merged in 1956. In 1961, the bank merged with Satara Swadeshi Commercial Bank Limited. In 1947, it acquired “A” class and in 1969, it acquired ‘B’ class.

MERGER OF UWB & IDBI:
In the year 1964, as a Financial Development Institution, IDBI has been formed.Later in the name of Industrial Development Bank of India Limited, it has become full-fledged banking company in the commercial field.The bank provides diverse services in agri-products, corporate banking, SME Finance and retail sector.In the year 2006, on 3rd October, IDBI and UWB merged.Since then, all the branches of UWB have been working as IDBI branches.If the customer has availed or deposited his money in any one of the UWB branches, that customer can continue to use to the services and his account from the IDBI bank i.e. he can use them as the customer of IDBI

UNITED WESTERN BANK CREDIT CARD:
The bank offers credit card to the persons if their annual income is greater than 60,000 rupees on an average.The credit card’s privileges are insurance of air travel of 2 lakh rupees, mutilated card replacement during emergency, insurance of personal accident of 1 lakh rupees, with drawl of cash in a month only for 2 occasions upto 5000 rupees, for booking air travel and rail tickets it is accepted, automatic renewal is accepted.

NRI SERVICES:
The bank offers two schemes of deposits to the NRIs such as Non-Resident Account(which is external), Foreign Currency Non Resident Account.
