The Aviation history was started by the Wright Brothers from North Carolina, USA, in 1903. In the initial years, the public was skeptical about the use of Airplanes for traveling. They thought it was too dangerous to risk their lives. But World War I came as a breath of fresh air for the Aviation Industry. As USA became involved in the war, the use of planes increased drastically. The American government started to invest in the Aviation Industry as well. The funds were used to experiment and improve the Airplanes. During the war, the USA exhibited its superiority over the other participants with better Airplanes. Superior air power proved decisive in the war.

The US government stopped funding the Aviation Industry after the conclusion of World War I. This was a set back for the aviation industry as a whole. With the successful completion of Lindbergh’s flight across the Atlantic, the general public began to accept Airplanes as a viable option of traveling. The commercial use of the Aviation Industry began after this. The Airline Industry’s growth was phenomenal after this landmark event. The industry started to concentrate on the concept of using the Airlines for purely commercial reasons.

Air travel was a fast and convenient mode of transportation for many. With the globalization of business, time became a very serious factor. Airline Industry came to the rescue of the business men and women who wanted things to be done faster. Over a period of time, the Airplanes grew in size and in terms of efficiency. Larger carriers enabled the business people to carry cargo apart from the passengers. This surely revolutionized the whole concept of cargo carriers.

The World War II contributed a lot to the Aviation Industry. During this war, the participating countries had to rely on their air might to showcase their supremacy. The factories in the USA and a few European countries had to work overtime to produce the  
aircrafts so that their fighters could win the war against their opponents. It became an issue of prestige for many German and American scientists to prove who used the better aircrafts. Both the countries came up with faster better aircrafts with more and more powerful engines that could also outmaneuver the opponents in the air battles. The Americans proved their air supremacy by defeating the Germans comprehensively. During the World War II, the airline industry grew phenomenally. The aircraft designers and the engineers found an excellent platform to experiment with found coming from the governments.

The prospect of the airline industry is growing by the day. They are coming up with ways to provide the customers with cheap airline tickets. With increase in the airline travelers, the prices are beginning to go down day by day. New and new airline companies are coming into existence and it is creating a healthy competition for the customers. The consumers are getting the benefits.
