Dacia Logan MPV Review

Dacia LogoHuge space, low cost and a complete family car, if this is what you are looking for, then look no further because the Dacia Logan MPV is here to meet your needs. Built by Renault in Romania, it is the cheapest modern car in Europe. The two advantages that summarize the Dacia Logan MPV are its cheap cost, around 10,000 Euro, and the second is its gigantic space.

Besides being very useful for small business units as a carriage van, the big interior of the Dacia Logan MPV works really well as a great people carrier, as it could quite comfortably accommodate 7 people. That fact actually goes a long way in making this car, the cheapest 7-seater in the world.

The Dacia Logan MPV has been technically specified as a strong and simple estate as is showcased by the saloon version that hosts a one-piece dashboard. As the Logan MCV targets a much wider range of uses than the MPV, the later does not have the additional protection for the estate like the number of features usually accompanying every Logan car. Such features include the use of broader door protective moldings that serve a dual purpose to reinforce the notion of strength generally exhibited by the new vehicle’s model.

The Dacia Logan MPV also features an underbody power train guard, along with a totally new solution designed to protect the transmission internals and the gearbox from exposure to dust. Owing to its high ground clearance of 155mm which is an increase of 20mm in comparison to the general European norms and long suspension travel, the Dacia Logan MPV can be driven without hesitation on any kind of terrain, even the world’s roughest roads.

All the space and robustness has made the Dacia Logan MPV compromise on power. Although the diesel engine is a product of Renault’s latest generation designs with a 1.5 liter displacement, yet the main problem of this unit is that the maximum output capacity is only 70 hp and 160 Nm, which is not acceptable. For the sedan, this is not a very viable option as if it is used to carry heavy loads; the engine would be much stressed. It is not understood why Renault and Dacia did not go for an 85 hp engine, as in its full load capacity of 1 860 kilograms, this diesel just won’t keep up. Another option for the engine could have been the 16 valve 1.6 liter engine that might have boosted the performance. This could have developed about a maximum of 105 hp and could reach the speed of 175 kilo meter per hour. Apart from its size and robustness, the only good point about the Dacia Logan MPV is its fuel consumption.

Dacia Logan MPV could be your ride only if you own a small business that requires a multi-functional car or you have more than 3 kids and plan to go for frequent family drives. The price is somewhat reasonable, but the performance of the engine is definitely not its USP; however, from the overall point of view, the car is spacious and you certainly will not be using it to test speeds in the smooth highways of Europe.
