Maini Reva Reviews

Maini Reva LogoIndia ‘s very first electric car is produced in the form of Maini’ reva. This vehicle has emerged since the dawn of the new millemium in India. It also promises to be the most economical and cheapest car in the market priced at only about 1.8 lakh. The new reva that is produced is completely upgraded and is different from any other previous models. Thorough long and extensive customer feed back and market testing the wheel back is now longer and the interior has been completely revamped.

The reva’s has been styled in a unique way that has a very comical charm to it. It is all awry in proportions and its tall stance is accentuated by the flat wind screen that is quite large. This design was conceptuated by a grope of young designers from Pasadena design center in the United States. The bumper that is matt grey colored is cleverly integrated into the nose and prominently stands out in the exterior of the car.

The car can reach from zero to 60 in about 18.3 seconds and the top speed is limited electronically to 65.This speed is quite slow and is not really enjoyable in the highways how ever, this car is very useful in bumper to bumper traffic. The car works optimum when the speed is below 30.There is an economy mode which gives the car an additional 20km range but the pickup is even slower. In the economy mode the pickup reduces to about 56.7 seconds to go from zero to 60.

The final performance on reva’s mileage is like any other car. Various acceleration tests and flat out runs have shown that the charge of the car drops to about half after every 30 kms.

Under normal driving conditions the reva can drive up to 80 km with full charge and can reach even up to 100km when switched in economy mode. The running cost of this car is virtually free. When plugged into a standard 15 amps socket with a cable wire the reva takes up 9 units of electricity to come to full charge .If we consider 3 rs per unit of charge seeing per the standard rates then the cost comes unto 33 paisa per km. The only thing that can be cheaper than this is walking.

The reva is the cheapest electrical vehicle in the world. There are other cars available like ford think of the same type and range but they are a bit larges and they cost to about three to four times the price in Europe.
