Maruti Alto Lxi Review

Maruti Launched the new model Maruti Alto Lxi recently, and with a tagline “ Let’s go in an alto”. It’s no doubt driving people’s attention. It has already made a statement by getting the tagline of the most fuel-efficient car in India. With more than 2 lakh car sales within a year, Maruti Alto has stuck a chord with the Indian consumers.

The new Alto Lxi offers additional features like Clear Lens Headlamps, Dynamic Front grill and Bumper, Sparkling Tail Lamps, Vibrant colors, Rotary control for ac and Stylish fabric.

Variants available in Alto are Alto LX and Alto Lxi. It is available in range of colors like wine red, Midnight black, Brilliant yellow, Caribbean blue, Silky silver, Superior White and Bright Red.Alto is made of lightweight aluminum and has a capacity of 65 bph at 6000 rpm. With a Mileage of 20-21 KMPL while driving on the highways, this car is full on when it comes to mileage. It boasts a powerful engine of 796 cc and 4 valves per cylinder. It has 5 speed, all synchromesh, manual transmission.The Capacity of Alto is 5 passengers.

It has an excellent pick up which can be illustrated with the fact that it reaches 0-60 kph in 5.01 seconds. The tyre size is of 145/80 r12 and has dimensions of 3498 X 1460.It has additional features like Front and rear suspension system, Molded carpet, cabin lamp, luggage compartment carpet, Ac with heater, Dynamic front grille, Tinted glasses only in the latest model, Clear lens headlamps, Side impact beams, High mount stop lamp and Booster assisted lamps.

There are few drawbacks, which can be sidelined easily. Lack of electronic power steering. Also there is a lack of leg room in the car. It does get a beating while driving in crowded places because of the absence of power steering pinches during such times. But while driving on a highway at a constant speed it does not make much of a difference.It gives a fresh new feeling on the Indian roads. The best thing about this car is its cute & smart looks. It is bound to stand out even when you park it next to a big car.

The body & bumper are painted in same color, which works on its favor. Space & comfort for the front seat is good. It’s good for the city traffic even with the ac on.It is recommended for a family of 2-3 members. Be careful while overtaking with the ac on as it lacks power.

One of the best things about maruti is the fact that it has authorized service centers all over India. Maintenance is low and the spare parts are easily available in the market. So you don’t need to worry when it comes to maintenance and repairs of your car.Moreover, you are contributing to the ecological balance by reducing environmental hazards by driving a car, which takes less fuel and less emission.

Go for Alto Lxi as it helps in small parking areas & traffic jams. Overall a good car. So the next time you want to take your family for a ride, go in an alto.

Some of the information is not correct in above review.

1. There has been a Electronic Power Steering in Alto LXi.
2. Body Coloured bumpers are not standard fittings. Not even in LXi.
We can get them painted at extra cost.

Dear All,

Maruti Alto LXI has become so cheper now Its about Rs.2.85 Lacs with standard Accessories at Chennai on road. Even better bargain is possible.

So its the best time to buy, as I predict that (1) Maruti will not be offering any more discounts in the future, rather it may increase it only (2) Govt has reduced Excise duty to 8% from 12%, which may not reduce further, rather chances of increase is possible.

who says that alto is inferior it has its own advantages. I am using this car for the first time,even then I felt it is beautiful. This is the smallest car in the country. Who says that other small cars can compete this.No Not at all.

Alto Lxi is a beautiful car. I like it because its small easy to drive in city. The gears are really smooth. It give me 17 KMPL. I am happy to buy a Alto LXI. The only thing missing is the power/ pickup drops when the a/c is on. The car is amazing.
I live in pune. bought the car from Sai Service but the tech at sai service are really to bad at their work. They have troubled me a lot. I pitty Maruti motors to have a dealer live this.
