Maruti Esteem Review

The esteem hit the market more than a decade ago, and it is still a hot favorite when it comes to fuel consumption and handling. Introduced in 1990’s, Maruti Udyog, the old name in Indian Automobile Industry was a phenomenon hit. Now it faces tough competition from other good looking cars and cars with greater fuel efficiency. According to the magazine Auto India, Esteem still continues to hold the topmost position with more than lakhs of consumers.

The launch of Esteem(Vxi) started with the promotions of “ Big big world”. And it is indeed big in terms of Comfort, Space, Mileage and looks too. Esteem is designed as per Indian road conditions, and it performs better than any other car in its range. It has been made for bumpy roads and performs better than any other car on high altitudes.

Maruti Esteem is available in three models, Maruti Esteem(Lx), Maruti Suzuki Esteem(Lxi) and Maruti Esteem(Vxi). Esteem (Vxi) is available in colors like Superior White, Metallic Pearl Silver. Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Icy Blue, Metallic Fawn Mist, Metallic Midnight Black and the newly launched Maroon.

Esteem is made of lightweight aluminum and has a capacity of 65 bph at 6000 rpm.

With a Mileage of 16-17 KMPL while driving on the highways and 13-14 KMPL while driving in the city highways, this car is full on when it comes to mileage. It boasts a powerful engine of 1298 cc and 4-cylinder engine. It has a fuel tank of 40 litres and 5 forward, 1 reverse transmission. The Capacity of Esteem (Lxi) is 4 passengers because of the Armrest in the back seat. It has an excellent pick up which can be illustrated with the fact that it reaches 0-60 kph in 5.01 seconds.

The striking feature of maruti esteem(Lxi) is that it always attracts buyers from all walks of life. Along with the other features in the previous two versions, this model possesses more advanced features. Steel side impact beams, collapsible steering column and laminated windshields highlight Esteem’s new safety features. In terms of comfort, it is upgraded with left side rear view mirror, central locking system, front and rear power windows, power antenna, rear spoilers and Kenwood defogger. When we come to the interiors, esteem is having power windows features. It also has a silver finish, vanity mirror and a cigarette lighter.

There are problems, which occurs in every car, for instance on high altitudes the front glass vibrates and makes a lot of noise. And When the AC is on, the car starts loosing its power and efficiency.

One of the best things about maruti, is the fact that it has authorized service centers all over India. Maintenance is low and the spare parts are easily available in the market. SO you don’t need to worry when it comes to maintenance and repairs of your car.

When it comes to value for money, Esteem is India’s first choice. The Esteem is a car everyone dreams about; good pick up and great mileage. The interior is not as clean and authentic. But it has an acceptable design and it’s not too bad either. Space is a problem in Esteem. But overall it’s worth a buy because of its reliability and fuel efficiency.
