Maruti hits the street again, and now this time it launches with 4 X 4 off roader. Made by Maruti Udyog, the trusted name in Indian Automobile Industry created waves when it was launched. It’s available in soft-top, hard top and Ambulance variants. With a choice of vibrant colors like right red, silky silver, superior white and Icy blue, it gives the consumers a good color preference.

Maruti Gypsy Is ideal for adventure treks or going for a long night drive. The city cops and Vip personals also use it. It is also a hot favorite among tourists who want to feel the India terrain. For starters it is not that bad a vehicle as it has been made by the Indian Brains. The average is not that bad either. It offers a mileage of about 10-11 kms/ltr(city); which is as good as most petrol cars.

It has a 1300 cc petrol engine, lighter than any other diesel engine. The Engine of Gypsy is high on thermal conductivity, and heats up quickly even under extremely cold conditions. Thus, there are no starting problems even in the midst of snow.
The Engine never overheats because its high thermal conductivity enables it to emit hear from time to time. It has a good power to weight ration ensuring better control, more power and greater responsiveness.

A dimension of 4010 mm X 1540 mm, it is a bit bulky. The capacity of the fuel tank is 40 litres, so you can go for long distances in a go. A horse power of 80 bhp @ 6000 rpm and brakes with booster are some of the other advantages. A 5- Speed gearbox ensures better highway mileage and high cruising speeds.

With a Higher ground clearance of 210 mm it ensures better off-road handling. It also reduces the wear of parts because of the presence of Diaphragm Spring Clutch designed to withstand higher rotational speeds.The Gypsy is a lighter vehicle. A heavier vehicle will get stuck but the Gypsy keeps going. And so it is a major advantage on sandy roads and for desert safaris.

The biggest drawbacks are the front passenger seat. Also people, who sit behind, often complain of bumpy ride and back pain. So you need to spend some extra bucks on installing extra shock absorbers.If you are a loner, have a passion for 4 X 4, love nature and you want to explore it on your own terms then the Gypsy is for you. It has a pretty good pick up, great transmission, is very reliable, real fun to drive, extremely tough, and capable off the road.
