Tata Indica Vista Review
Another marvel from the Tata’s stable, the Tata Indica Vista rolled out on August 23, 2008. First unveiled in the Auto Expo in Delhi in the month of January, the Tata Indica Vista is an all-new vehicle with a lot of promise. Built over the initial Tata Indica revealed about ten years ago, the new Vista will not just carry on the success trend of the Indica, but better it in more ways than one. It exhibits Tata’s ongoing effort of producing quality cars complying to the auto standards globally. The revealing of the Indica Vista is in tune with the current festive season in India with discounts and offers expected to boost the initial sales.
The new Tata Indica Vista is not a mere face lift of the Indica but is much better in terms of powerful engine, great interiors and improved quality. In fact apart from the name and the layout, nothing in it resembles its predecessor. Set to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai i10 models, the Vista is likely to coexist with the other models with a price reduction on the others.
Available in a total of seven variants, one can pocket a Tata Indica Vista or rather garage it starting at INR 3.49 Lakhs for the 1.2 liter Safire model at the lower end, going up to INR 4.88 Lakhs for the 1.3 liter Vista Quadra jet models. These models are available in a wide variety of colors like Gala Red, Noble Blue, Arctic Siler, Cavern Grey, Solar Orange, Marine Silver and Infinity Black.
Inside the cockpit, the Tata Indica Vista assures a much better driving experience to its drivers. The previous Indica version itself was quite spacious, and the Vista outsmarts it by having much more space and even a longer wheel base by 70mm. Among the most noticeable changes to the interiors are the central mounted speedometer, adjustable driver seat and steering wheel, and two tone interiors. Exteriors are spruced up as well. With more robust and solid looks Tata Indica Vista sports smart head lamp, roof mounted antenna and indicator on the rear view mirrors.

Pros: The new looks of the Tata Indica Vista are definitely the pro, along with its spacious interiors. The 1.2 liter Safire might be a very good ride in terms of power, but the 1.3 liter Quadra jet will not disappoint you.
Cons: The safety is not the best thing to talk about the Tata Indica Vista. It is a shame that it does not have ABS braking nor does it have airbags. The older versions of the Indica have come out with these safety items, but the Vista fails to attract in this respect. If you are safety conscious, then you might want to wait for a while until Tata roll out a version with at least airbags.
