Yamaha Alba Review

Yamaha LogoYamaha has been known for manufacturing a good number of high performance bikes for the bike lovers. The company is targeting a large pool of bike buyers with Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba. The bike is a 106 cc bike mainly targeted for those buyers who want to use the bike as a family bike. The bike is not great looking as compared to the other contemporary bikes that are available in the market but is very cheaply priced as compared to the other bikes. Hence, it can be bought by many people who cannot afford the other comparatively expensive bikes.

The engine in Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba is very similar to the one that is found in the other Yamaha models like the Crux and the Libero. The 106 cc engine in the bike offers a power of 7.6 bhp and a maximum torque of 7.85 Nm. It is also seen that shifting from one gear to another is not at all comfortable. The bike can reach a high speed of 95 kilometers per hour and the riders can experience a comfortable ride even at such higher speeds due to the minimal amount of vibrations in it. However, most riders complain hearing a noise when the bike is run at high speeds.

Yamaha’s new offering - the Alba is not very stylish but it is not very bad looking either and has got a cool look that is quite good keeping in mind that it is designed for being a family bike. The bike has been provided with drum brakes both on the front and the rear of the car. Besides drum brakes, the Alba is provided with shock absorbers to make a ride in the bike comfortable.

The seat in Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba is quite good and has been found to be quite comfy. While riding the bikers will need to lean forwards as the wheel base in the bike is quite long. However, the other features in the bike like the broad and ergonomic seats in the bike make sitting on the bike comfortable for the riders.

As far as the Indian roads are concerned, Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba is aptly designed for providing the Indian bikers with a comfortable ride. The bike has a good spacing of the gear ratio which makes it easier for the people to ride through heavy traffic without the need to change the gears frequently.

The Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba is available in four different colors: red, black, blue and silver. The bike is available in two varieties depending on the type of wheels used. The spoke wheeled Alba is cheaper than the alloy wheeled Alba. Yamaha has been eyeing to capture the market for family bike for a long time now and it is expected that Yamaha’s new offering - The Alba will help the company in entering this market.
