Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Mobile Review

The nokia 5800 xpress music is the latest well equipped phone designed by nokia brought in to the market on November 27th ,2008. This phone has most of the entertainment features which can be found on other high budget phones such as the n series etc. This is the first time nokia has introduced touchscreen in the symbian s60 series. This comes under the category of xpress music which has being popular among all young users. The highlight of the phone are the music features and multimedia playback. The 5800 can also adapt to java applications where little part of the screen includes keys that can be used to work on these applications. Nokia had announced that it had sold million phones in January 2009 though it had not released in some parts of the world.The cpu clock of the 5800 has been matched to that of the nokia n97 by increasing from 369MHz to 434MHz. Nokia has released a firmware update on January 13,2010 which has changes in speed , new components and bug fixes. The new home screen provides space for 20 contacts and other program shortcuts.Nokia has announced that it has sold more than 6.8 million units since the release.

In addition to this version nokia brought in a new navigation version in the market on august 9th,2009 wich comes with pre installation of ovi maps which have free lifetime navigation. This version comes along with the car charger and car kit because of the battery consumption. The phone comes with a 3.2inch large colour display and 360 by 640 pixels resolution, the volume being 111 by 51.7 by 15.5 mm and weighing 109 grams. The phone supports GSM , GPRS ,EDGE and the GSM being 850/900/1800/1900.The phone has a 3.2 mega pixel camera with a dual LED flash and 3x zoom with geo tagging. The device has multiple inputs such as stylus , plectrum and finger touch for text input , numeric keypad etc. The device can be used to connect to mobile broadband using LAN and HSDPA.The maximum size for memory card is 16gb (micro sd).The battery backup is good with a GSM talk time till 8.8hrs and standby time till about 17 days. The device has a video playback time to 5.2hrs and video recording to 3.6hrs and music playback till about 35hrs.

The audio formats include AAC , MP3 , MP4, WAV, WMA SP-MIDI and more. This phone has been a great hit among gen y and is a stiff competition for other phones like the n series phones the satio in sony ericsson and other multimedia phones pricing around the 14 thousand mark.
