Nokia 6500 slide Mobile Phone Review

The Nokia 6500 slide phone has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, auto focus, and double LED flash, 8x digital zoom, macroshot, landscape mode, sequential shots, and dedicated 2-step capture key. It also has Horizontal mode with capture and zoom keys similar to a digital camera and one can use PictBridge to print copies of favorite images and add finishing and personal touches to pictures with Adobe PhotoShop software. It has video recording facility with VGA (15fps) and QCIF (30fps) resolutions with 4x smooth zoom. The device also has a secondary camera for video calling, 3G TV video calling and TV conference via TV-OUT.

The phone has Bluetooth version 2.0 and micro USB connector with USB 2.0 connectivity. It also has a 2.5mm AV connector for headset and TV-OUT, local and remote SyncMl synchronization using Nokia PC Suite software. It has WAP 2.0 browser with XHTML support as also an Opera Mini browser and circuit-switched data transfer for browsing and as data modem. The digital services of the phone include Over-the air downloads for ringtones, themes, wallpapers and screen savers and also firmware update over the air.

The Nokia 6500 slide has a 2.2” QVGA LCD display with up to 16.7 million colors, an active display area and an ambient light sensor. It has multimedia messaging for receiving, editing and sending videos and pictures, Text messaging supports concatenated SMS, picture messaging and instant messaging with Presence-enhanced contacts. The phone also has Nokia Xpress audio messaging where one can send a spontaneously recorded voice clip through MMS.

The device has Music player supports MP3, AAc and WMA audio file formats and also Visual radio where one can listen to and interact with favorite FM radio channels. It also has video streaming, local video playback, still picture to TV-Out in VGA and video to TV-Out in QVGA 15fps.

The Nokia 6500 has Series 40 3rd edition user interface including an active standby with up to five icons displayed on the screen for easy access to favorite applications. The device has 20 MB user free internal memory expandable up to 4 GB with microSD memory card and has a talk time up to 6 hours and standby time up to 320 hours.
