Nokia N97 Mobile Phone Review

The nokia n97 is one of rare latest n series with a touchscreen released by nokia and this time with a QWERTY keyboard which has brought a new dimension to the smartphones released by nokia.This device was announced on December 2nd 2008 which was then only the second touchscreen phone released by nokia after nokia 5800 xpress music which belongs to the symbian os ie the S60 5th edition.This smart device was released in the united states on june 9th 2009 and was released worldwide later on that year on june 26th and later nokia announced that it had sold over two million handsets three months after the release.The device constitutes trial versions of quick office , adobe reader , bingo and joikuspot premium and also the ovi maps and ovi store.The initial software had a few problems with the users and prompted nokia to release a new firmware in October 2009 which had a few new features like the kinetic scrolling to address the issues of the older version but still the users do have problems with a few functions on the handsets.

The package contents are the device , the battery(BP-4L) , travel charger (AC-10U) , nokia connectivity cable(CA-101), Nokia wired headset(AD-54,HS-45) and a cleaning cloth.The device holds a 3.5 inch display with resolution 640 by 360 pixels and upto a 16.7 million colours , it includes brightness control, orientation sensor , proximity sensor and ambient light detector.The dimensions are 4.61 by 2.18 by 0.63 and it weighs 5.29 oz.It has an internal memory upto 32gb and also supports a micro sd memory slot upto 16gb.The device accommodates a full slide out keyboard, cover keys including the s60 keys , menu keys and send/end keys and it also comprises of dedicated camera and volume keys.The GSM talktime lasts up to 9.5 hours where as the WCDMA lasts to 6hours only and standby time lasts to 17.9 days where in WCDMA it lasts for 16.6 days and the music playback constitutes up to 40 hours.

The available colours are black and white.It sports a customizable home screen including widgets , themes , icons , shortcuts and the menu.it also sports a 5.0 megapixel camera with carl zeiss optics including auto focus+dual Led flash and digital zoom up to 4x.The device includes automatic geotagging and there is also the option of economic sharing in order to optimize battery and memory use.The device supports for standard 3.5 mm headphones and has integrated stereo speakers and the users could also listen to music wirelessly via Bluetooth stereo audio.Even though it has a few problems with functioning on a few handsets this is the ultimate multimedia and smart phone for all users since it covers all possible features available on other high end handsets.
