Ally Sheedy Biography
Ally Sheedy was born in New York City on June 13, 1962. Daughter of a remarkable press agent, Ally Sheddy published her first children book, “She Was Nice to Mice,” when she was only 12 years old. The New York publishing world also took notice of her. Moreover, she also started getting offers for writing articles and reviews for the New York Times.
After finishing her school career, the actress moved to the west where, she continued her college career from the University of California and also appeared in TV movies. At the age of 21, she started her career in films. Her first big-screen debut was in a film called “Bad Boys,” which was released in 1983. After that she did a number of movies including The Breakfast Club, War Games, Rob Lowe vehicle Oxford Blues, St. Elmo’s Fire – these movies were hit in the box office and Shelly’s star was bright.
Unfortunately, her bright star faded away in the early 90’s. She was then completely depressed and in a complete obscurity. However, she again came with bright fortune in 1998. Her starring role of a drug addicted lesbian photographer in the movie “High Art,”s made her a star again. Her touching performance in the movie brought appreciations from every corner.
In the year 1999, she acted in movies like Sugar Town and The Autumn Heart. Moreover, she also continued her theatre work. In addition to that she also performed well in movies such as Hedgewidge and Angry Inch.
