Amanda Bearse Biography
Born on August 09, 1958 in Winter Park, FL -- Amanda Bearse is a director as well as an actor. Amanda Bearse is very well known for her depiction of Marcy Rhoades D'arcy – a frenzied and feminist fellow on the episode called Married. She is also a very eloquent spokesperson who always speaks out in favor of gay and lesbian rights. Moreover, she is also a very busy television director.
A native of Winter Park, Florida, Amanda Bearse came into acting profession through school and community theater. She later went to New York to study acting from Sanford Meisner. Her first acting career started when she worked on a drama called “All My Children.” This long serial went for nearly two years from 1982 to 1984.
Initially, she came with small roles in films. These movies were “First Affair,” “Protocol,” “Fright Night,” “Fraternity Vacation,” etc. Amanda Bearse studied directing from the American Film Institute and U.S.C. Most of the viewers were not aware that the in the run series, she became a regular director and had also written several scripts. In the meantime, she also came out as a strong spokesperson who spoke out in favor of gay and lesbian rights. After the long episode of run, she finally gave more time to her directing career.
Amanda Bearse chose her career in television and film. She first started her career with television and then moved towards film. Though more successful in television, Amanda Bearse became a director. In 2005, she had directed the film “The Sperm Donor,” and in 2006, she directed the Big Gay Sketch Show.
