Amy Louise Acker Biography

Beautiful American actress Amy Louise Acker was born in Dallas, Texas on December 5, 1976. Being proud parents of four children, with Amy being the oldest. Their father is a lawyer by the name of Robert Acker and her mother a housewife, coming from French ancestry, Sandra Bruyere.
For 13 years, Amy studied ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance. Unfortunately her ballet career was over when she had to have knee surgery while she was still attending high school. Acker began her acting career when she was a sophomore in high school. In 1995, taking advantage of the schools renowned theatrical program, Amy enrolled at Souther Methodist University. In her junior year there, she took on some modeling work for the J. Crew clothing catalog. Then in 1999, Amy was nominated for a leon Rabin award for "Outstanding Performance by an Actress in A Lead Role for her talented and fabulous performance in the play Therese Raquin. In the same year she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
She has has appearances in the television series Angel, playing Winifred "Fred" Burkle as well as playing Burkle/Illyria which is a fictional character created by Joss Whedon. In 2003, Amy won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress on Television for her work on Angel. She joined the cast of Alias in 2005 where she played the vilainous Kelly Peyton. As the show entered the final episodes in April and May of 2006, Amy graduated from being a guest star to being a fully credited cast member.
She married actor James Carpinello while in California, on April 25, 2003 and then on January 22, 2005, they had a son named Jackson James Carpinello. Then following the birth of their son, Amy had a daughter on September 1, 2006 named Ava Grace.
