GRE Sample Questions
Graduate Record Examinations commonly known as the GRE test. GRE test measures the communicative reasoning, quantitative ability, decisive thinking and analytic writing skills of a graduate aspirant. This test measures the level of knowledge of a student in 8 individual fields of study. This GRE test is conducted as a requirement for Graduate School admissions. It is focused on US Graduate School admissions. The students aspiring to join a US School as a Graduate Scholar World over, especially in the United States, appear for the GRE Test. GRE test examination is also an essential entry requirement for Graduate admissions in almost all English speaking countries. GRE is created and administered by the Educational Testing Service.
GRE is a computer based online test which can be taken by the student anywhere in an authorized, designated and licensed testing centers. The importance of the GRE test score as a deciding factor for a candidate varies from Institute to Institute. The GRE score does become a part of overall portfolio of various admission merit criteria for an Education Institution, it is not the sole criteria but yes it is a big factor in the selection process for admissions into Graduate courses..
The GRE Test is graded into three sections. An experimental test section is also added which is sometimes does become part of the GRE Test score of a candidate. The duration of GRE test is for 3 hours.
Test centers:
The general and subject trials are conducted at several undergraduate institutions whereas the computer based test is conducted only at centers which have the required technical adjustments.
When is the test conducted?
The test is conducted through out the year. A student intending to take the test can select his own date and time to write the examination. Tests are usually conducted 5 days a week which is Monday through Friday. Normally September to December is the peak season for the test, so registration in advance is required for the date of your choice.
Eligibility:
Anyone can write the test and there is no restriction with regard to age of qualification. The scores of the test have a validity period of five years.
