SAT Sample Questions

The SAT Reasoning Test is a standard to test a student’s ability for college admissions in the United States. The duration of the test is four hours and it costs $43 for US students and $68 for international students. The scores range from 600 to 2400 from three 800 point sections.

A student is tested on three main areas like Mathematics, Critical Reading and Writing. Each section has a score of 200-800. All the scores are of multiples of 10 and the total score is arrived at by adding the scores of the three sections. The three main sections are divided into three parts.

Pattern of the test is as follows:

Writing test is for 60 minutes and the average score is 497. This test has grammar, usage and word choice test.
Mathematics is for 70 minutes and the average score is 518.
Critical reading is also for 70 minutes and average score is 503.

The SAT examination is conducted 7 times in a year in the United States. It is conducted in the months of October-December and January – March and May and June. The test is conducted on the first Saturday for the November, December, May and June examinations.
