Alan Keyes

Alan Keyes, the former diplomat, author and political activist of America was born on the 7th day of August, 1950. He ran in 1996 and 2000 for the President of the U.S and in the years, 1988, 1992 and in 2004 for the U.S Senate. He is presently a candidate for the Presidential Election in 2008. Keyes was assigned for the post of Ambassador at the United Nations Economic and Social Council under President Reagan. He also served the State for International Organization Affairs between 1985 and 1987. Presently he lives in Maryland at the Montgomery County with his family.

Alan KeyesA group called “We need Keyes for President” made a political action committee that encouraged Keyes to enter the election in 2008. His candidacy was announced officially on September, 14, 2007. It was announced at a radio show that was hosted by Janet Parshall. In 2007, on September, 17, Keyes took part in the Values Voter Debate which was shown live on Skyangel. In the straw poll of a live audience, Keyes earned the third position after Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul. Keyes was out of the CNN/You Tube debate on November 28th, 2007. The exclusion was termed as unfair, arbitrary and presumptuous by Alan Keyes campaign and they remarked that the CNN was playing the gatekeeper’s role in the Presidential Election.

In 2007, December 12th, Keyes took part in the Republican Presidential debate and it was shown nationwide by PBS. This was carried everywhere by the cable network. This was the first major debate in Alan Keyes participated in 2008 for the election and before the Iowa Caucuses, this was the last republican debate. Keyes commented during the debate that he was not receiving treatment that was fair enough. He also commented on the debate moderator saying that she had failed to call on him in some of the rounds so that he had to point that out. He also offensively criticized his opponents like Rudy Giuliani for his pro-choice position and also Mitt Romney’s change in position. Even while commenting on global warming he criticized his opponents by saying that he wants to reduce global warming because the most important emission is the emission of hot air of politicians who don’t deliver but pretend a lot. He advocated the God’s return to schools, stopping income tax and he was all for abolishing abortion.

Born in a naval hospital in New York’s Long Island, Keyes’ parents were Allison and Gerthina Keyes. His father was an U.S Army sergeant. After graduation, Keyes went to Cornell University. Later on Keyes was invited to study at Harvard University and completed B.A. degree in 1972 in Government Affairs. Keyes received his PhD in 1979 from Harvard University, in government affairs.
