Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton, whose other identity is that she is Bill Clinton’s (the U.S. President) wife, is a junior Senator from New York. She is also a candidate for the Presidential Election of 2008. She was born in 1947, in October 26. She was the first lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001.

Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham came to national forefront in 1969 when she presented a controversial address for Wellesley College. She was a native of Illinois. Hillary began her career after she graduated from Yale Law School in 1973 as a lawyer and then moved to Arkansas after her marriage to Bill Clinton in the year 1975. She was the first female to become a partner at the Rose Law firm in the year 1979. She was listed as one of the most dominant lawyers in America. She also served as the first lady of Arkansas (1979-1981) and (1983-1992). She was into a number of organizations that was associated with the care of children and was on board of Wal-Mart and other Corporate boards.

Hillary also held a very prominent position in policy matters. The major project the Clinton health care plan was not approved by the U.S. Congress in 1994. Later in 1997, she helped in the establishment of Adoption and Safe Families Act. and the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The marriage to Mr. Clinton was the subject of discussion following the scandal concerning Lewinsky.

When she moved to New York, Clinton was elected in the U.S Senate in the year 2000
She primarily supported the administration of George Bush on some issues on foreign policy. This included the voting for the Iraq War. Hillary was re elected and it was on a wide margin in the year 2006. In 2007, she was consistently in the polls for the 2008 Presidential Nomination.

Hillary Diane Rodham was born in Chicago in Illinois. She grew up in a United Methodist family. Her father had a small but prosperous business of textiles and her mother was a homemaker. Hillary participated in sports like tennis and other sports and also participated in Girls Guide programs.
