Tirupati is one of the oldest and the amazing places in India. ‘Tirupati’ is defined as the “the “Lord of Lakshmi”. It is located in the Chittor district in the Indian state of southern Andhra Pradesh and near by the foot hills of Tirumalai. In Tirupati, there is a very famous temple of Lord Sri Venkateswara, Tirupati Tirumala and is located on the seventh peak of the Tirumala Hill. This great temple is known as the jewel among the ancient places of worship situated in Southern India. Tirumala Hill has a height of 3200 feet and spread over 10.33 square miles in area. Tirumala hill has seven peaks as Seshadri, Neeladri, Anjanadri, Garudadri, Narayananadri, Venkatatadri and Vrishabhadri. Some of the important festivals are Vaikunta Ekadasi, Janmashtami, Brahmotsavam, Rathasapthami and the Gangamma Jathara. Gangamma is a goddess and also known as the sister of The Lord Almishty, Govinda and these people offer animal sacrifices to her.
