The most important benefit of chronological resumes is that they offer easy readability, wherein career objectives are clear set with the work history.

It is advised not to use a functional resume, in that, skills and achievements made during academic performance are emphasized, ignoring the essential part of work experience. Functional resumes are viewed more critically by employers and professional recruiters for such reasons.

On the other hand, a combination resume entails the elements of both chronological and functional resumes. It not only highlights the skills and accomplishments of the job seekers but also incorporates their work history and education details in brief, thus giving the employer a clear picture of the aspiring candidate.
