1. You just can’t proof read your resume enough. You need to keep on checking it again and again in order to make sure that there are no grammatical mistakes or spelling errors. Is the sentence construction and paragraphing consistent? Furthermore you should not switch between tenses in a resume. Stick to mentioning all your achievements in past tense.

3. Although your resume needs to have a formal tone it should show your enthusiasm. The employer should feel as though you are motivated to deliver. Make sure there is enough energy to spill over on to the employer in your resume.
4. The attention to detail should be well balanced. Mention only the relative details as you do not want to bore the reader with your resume. Leave room for expansion for the interview. Avoid mentioning any unnecessary detail that may have a negative impact on the employer.
5. Use quality paper. This can do wonders for your presentation.
6. All personal information that is not of any importance should be left out of your resume. The employer will not at all be interested in your weight and height. Mentioning such irrelevant things will most probably cause you to lose out.
7. Make sure you have an objective statement. If you haven’t made one as yet then now is the time for you to seriously consider phrasing out a powerful objective statement. All professional resume builders unanimously agree that a resume should be headed by an objective statement. This will help to introduce you and your intentions to the employer. But be sure to mention what you have to offer to the company not just what you want out of it.
8. Your resume should consist of truth and nothing but the truth. This truth should however have been put forward tactfully so as to highlight your skills and accomplishments in the best possible manner. Do not stretch the limits of what you can afford to do with the truth as that might just lead to your doom.
9. You should look at your resume to see if it is well laid out comes across as pleasing to the eye. A good way to judge this is to have someone else read it for you.
