Link Building for Search Engine Optimization
Link building cannot actually put you on the top of page results just as easily, you need to do it the right way. Link building is not just putting in as much links as you want in several websites. There is a strategy and technique on how you can effectively use link building in improving your page rank.
Link exchange is by far the most popular and the most effective way of link building. If you have several webmasters that you know, try to ask them if they want to add your link to their sites and in turn you would also add their URL in your own website. If you can get many link exchanges, then you can effectively increase your page rank.
Browse the Internet for other website that are related to your own website. For example if your website is about acne, then you can scout for health websites or websites that tackles skin problems. If you happen to see one, try to contact the webmaster (you can usually find their e-mail address at the website’s contact us page) and write a short e-mail about how you both work together on a link exchange. Most website owners only want relevant links in their websites. Instead of directing the links to your main web page, you can also direct a link to a particular page where there is relevant content relating to the website you just put your link into. For example, if you find a website that caters to teenagers, direct your link to a certain article where your website talks about how teenagers can deal with acne. This way you would get better traffic to your sites and thus increase your page rank too. It’s not a good idea to add your links to unrelated websites.
Try as you might to exchange links with websites with high PR. Low PR sites would not relatively do you any good. But if you think a new website has the promise to eventually get a high pagerank, then you can go ahead and add your links into these websites.
If you are serious in increasing your pagerank, then you need to invest a little. You can buy links to improve your SEO. Again, be careful on which sites you would buy your links from. Choose the site that is high in traffic, high in PR and with contents relating to your website.
Link building has always been a great part of SEO but if used incorrectly, you can get yourself banned. Make sure that your link campaign does not work with spam sites or posting unwanted links in forums and blogs. Keep your link strategies legitimate, clean and relevant and in to time you get the page rank that you deserve.
