What is Link Building?

Link building is when you put a link to another person’s site onto your website. It sounds simple? It sounds simple but it is not. There are other things that go into consideration when placing links and back links. Here are some guidelines for what they call natural simulation of links and back links. You should always have a varied anchor text on your back link. Your targeting your keyword is ok but make sure they are tied to an anchor.

Make sure your link comes from related pages. This is the most important thing especially for the sites in English. Links from related pages carry more weight, they are more reputable. Make sure that the links are coming from a different location on the page. Not all back links can be footers from another place. Place them on the top of the page and inside the body text.

Some computer experts say that the back links on your site should be from a PR + 5 only. Try not to have links or back links from places like adult sites, gambling sites and pharmacy sites. These types of sites get a lot of Spam and Google and other search engines do not like them. Make sure your links come form different C-class and IP address, your links must be from another location.

Make sure your links are coming from non directories. Chose a few links from such directories that have ODP and Yahoo can trust in with Google. Be careful where you are getting your links from, some links may be corrupt and can do some harm to your system. Try to get more permanent links that is where the money is at. If you do rent links, try to rent them for as long as you can. The age of your back links has recently becoming more important. The older the link the more traffic will flock to it.

Try not to place your links in the bad neighborhood so that you should also not place the links on sites that actually link back to themselves. You are trying to maximize the amount of clicks that you will get from link. Make sure that your links are in the same language. It makes for a lot less confusion.

If you are having trouble getting links try link baiting or maybe you can do a link exchange and if that doesn’t work there is also a directory where you can get some free links. There are online services that could help you. Try to keep them in a place where they can be seen, try to keep them respectable. What is most important is that the links are getting clicks.

There are many different types of links, review which ones you would like to use and incorporate them into your website through your content. Try one type of link and see how much traffic you get. It is your website, you can always change it. If one type doesn’t work then try another, you will get it right.
